Red Funnel clinched its sixteenth Gold Award at the RoSPA Health and Safety awards, for their dedication to good Health and Safety practice. In the last two years, the Isle of Wight based ferry operator, commended by the family safety charity, have also been awarded the Order of Distinction. This places them alongside an elite group of businesses that have had fifteen or more Gold awards.

The company carries 3.5 million passengers a year, offering an important link between the Isle of Wight and the British mainland. Safety along The Solent and Southampton Water is paramount, especially as they form part of the English Channel. The English Channel is one of the world’s busiest shipping lanes. This is also key to their customer satisfaction which stands at 92% from one website.

On their latest success, Red Funnel’s CEO Kevin George said in The Island Echo: “We are delighted to receive this prestigious global award from RoSPA in a year which sees the charity celebrate its centenary. The safety of our customers and staff is at the heart of this business and we are extremely proud of our record in health and safety management.”

Red Funnel will be presented with their award at ExCeL on the 20 June 2017, on the banks of the River Thames estuary. The London presentation will commemorate RoSPA’s 61st Health and Safety awards.
