Facilities management company to maintain Costa Coffee branches throughout Scotland and Northern England
A few months back, we looked at Siesta Coffee in Newton Aycliffe. They are owned by the EHL Group, a facilities management company which decided to take on Costa, Starbucks and Caffe Nero. Last week, a well known facilities management company has won a lucrative contract with Costa Coffee. They have overseen numerous public and private sector projects throughout Scotland and Northern England.
Robertson FM, part of the Robertson conglomerate formed in 1966, will be entrusted with maintaining Costa Coffee branches throughout Scotland and Northern England. Following a procurement study, the facilities management company was chosen ahead of rival bidders. Robertson FM also offers similar services to Whitbread plc’s other concerns: Premier Inn hotels and Beefeater restaurants.
There will be two contract managers, based in Newcastle-upon-Tyne and Stirling. Maintenance services will cover the shop interiors, fascias, doors, and furniture of 250 branches. On the FM World website, Robertson’s Chief Executive Ian Gibson said: “This contract award demonstrates our ability to deliver a 24/7 mobile maintenance service whilst offering best value to Costa.”
Robertson FM carry out planned and reactive maintenance work for Premier Inn hotels and Beefeater restaurants. Their Costa Coffee contract consolidates their relationship with Whitbread. Recently, they have overseen the construction of Whitley Bay’s Premier Inn hotel. This is adjacent to the iconic Spanish City building.
Closer to home, Robertson FM have developed the Bolton Central office building. Nearing completion, the office block on Great Moor Street is opposite Transport for Greater Manchester’s Bolton Interchange. The gateway building is awaiting potential tenants.
