EMCOR UK wins three year facilities management contract with NATS
EMCOR UK, the facilities management company, have renewed their facilities management contract with NATS for another three years. The company which runs the UK’s air traffic control systems have had a long term relationship with EMCOR at their centres in Prestwick, Fareham, and Swanwick.
The extension of their contract also includes the continued development of NATS’ Technology Transformation Programme. EMCOR UK will continue to provide mechanical and electrical maintenance services, cleaning, catering, logistics, pest control, and manned guarding services.
The supply chain director, Tim Bullock said on the Advance magazine’s website: “We are very pleased to award EMCOR UK a facilities management contract extension. We have an excellent working relationship with the EMCOR UK team, which plays a considerable part in helping to ensure NATS stays ahead of the technology curve; we look forward to working together for many years to come.”
Their new contract is effective from October 2017 with the option of a two year extension. EMCOR UK is the British arm of its multinational parent, EMCOR Group Inc. Their headquarters are situated in Norwalk, Connecticut. The company’s UK offices are based in Surbiton, Surrey.
NATS was originally set up as National Air Traffic Control Services in 1962. They became National Air Traffic Services in 1972, when part of NATS’ operations were moved to the Civil Aviation Authority. They were partially privatised in 1998, with 51% of the government’s stake going to the private sector.
